She actually is still around. Autumn actually found the nest smack dap in the middle of our yard and had already handled 3 out of the 5 bunnies by the time she raced into the house to tell me what she had found. Anyway, we decided that the harm was already done, that we had also read that it was a myth that momma's wouldn't take care of their babies if a human had handled them so we all got to hold them. Amazingly precious! Anyway, we have been checking on them in their nest (which is just out of reach of Molly) and are happy to note that they appear happy and well fed; Zach even saw the momma around the nest. It will be fun to see them grow and hopefully (hopfully :)) get to see them leave the nest, although our neighbor won't be happy about more rabbits in the neighborhood!
