Our Little Halloween Pumpkin

I guess he was insistent that he keep his pumpkin hood on all day.

Classic Line from Autumn

Autumn had a classic line tonight. She said to Kim, "I love you so much that I am going to throw up."

Wow. Not sure what to make of that one, but it sure was funny.

Pumpkin Carving Fun 2008!

We were joined by our friends Andrew and Amanda from our church and home group. We had a great night of carving fun! I am just glad no one made a Barack O'Lantern.

I've been tagged (a long time ago)

I was tagged by Shadley Grimes probably close to 2 weeks ago. Zach is primarily in charge of the blog so it took me awhile to notice (after I read my name on Shadley's blog) and even longer to actually sit down and respond. Now you know why Zach does most of the blogging :)

Here's my 7 weird facts about myself:
1. I have a few sound fettishes: I don't like the sound of picking (like picking nails, skin, etc) and even worse is the sound of cotton being pulled apart (like cotton balls, moist napkins). These sounds actually give me the goosebumps all over and are worse than nails on a chalkboard :)
2. I used to own a pet gardner snake when I was growing up. His name was Jerome (very precious)
3. I also had a pet white rat, Bubba (also very precious).
4. One of my favorite things to do is to read in the bathtub...I have ruined a couple of books this way, one I inadvertantly put in the toilet (I can describe it sometime if you're wondering)
5. I'm a fantasy book fan (especially in the 'young readers' section). I especially love: Madeline L'Engel books (author of wrinkle in time trilogy), Harry Potter books, and especially Chronicles of Narnia (I've read them at least once/year since in Jr High). I can't wait until my kids get into them and I have an excuse to start reading them aloud :)
6. My parents named me after diapers, the Kimberly Clark brand (more known for kleenex and toilet paper) in the hospital. Very meaningful, thanks mom and dad :)
7. I like to position myself beside people who can really sing in church or away from anyone that can hear me. Either way, I can sing loud and pretend that it actually sounds wonderful.

I tag:
1. Ruth
2. Cara R.
3. Carrie S.
4. Jana K
5. Julia
6. Joanna Kay
7. Becca

I Didn't Know Taylor Could Read So Well

Here is what he just read out loud (except for the Spanish part) to me all by himself:
I'm Dora. Boots is coming to my house for a sleepover tonight. Look! the Bugga Bugga Babies are almost asleep. Can you whisper "good night"? Now whisper it in Spanish: "buenas noches."
Evidently, at Oak Grove they are teaching the kids to sound out words pretty well.

In Light Of Our Adoption

Jeremy Monteith:
This is a very cool video that was on ESPN Gameday this morning about Georgia head coach Mark Richt and his family. It focuses on two children that they adopted from Ukraine, including one that has a facial deformity.
RSS people, you'll probably need to click to my site to view.

A Great Day At McCall's Pumpkin Patch and Farm!

Today, Oak Grove Classical Academy took an outing to the McCalls Pumpkin Patch and Farm. It was a blast for the kids. They got to go on a hayride to pick out their pumpkin, see all the farm animals, play on a big slide, and climb a huge haystack. Seems like this will become a yearly fall tradition for us.

Emery Likes To Help Mommy Clean

And he likes to have his big brother "do" his hair by pouring bubble solution all over his head.

Emery Is Cute and Doesn't Like To Talk Yet

The Monkey Taylor

Ok, just so we don't look like totally negligent parents...Zach saw Taylor do this on his own. To videotape it, Zach was spotting Taylor and we have told him that he is never to do this again even though it is pretty amazing and very creative! :)
